[Shingal, Ezidikhan. October 10, 2019] The Provisional Government of Ezidikhan has begun delivery of supplemental food items to needy Yezidi families living in IDP camps. The project was initiated in response to complaints of food shortages from Yezidi families living in Bab al-Khan IDP camp.
Health Minister Naji Hassan observed that food deliveries from other governmental and non-governmental sources have been inadequate for the nutritional needs of women and growing children. Besides urging relief agencies to step up food deliveries, the Provisional Government of Ezidikhan has also been taking additional steps to source funding for special food packet deliveries for those families most in need.
Food delivery is part of the Ezidikhan Government’s women’s health program. Needy families received fresh vegetables, rice, and wheat flour. Women with infants received baby food as well.
