[Lalish, Shekhan, Ezidikhan. 27 March 2018] In a letter to Iraqi Prime Minister Al-Abadi, Prime Minister of Ezidikhan Waheed Mandoo Hammo has urged Iraq to intervene in the United Nations Security Council to demand that the government of Turkey cease its threats and provocations against Ezidikhan’s Shingal region.

The Provisional Government of Ezidikhan is also calling on the governments of Germany and France to intervene with Turkey to cease and desist from any and all of its military actions against Yezidis and other peoples of Ezidikhan and against Yezidis in Efrin as well.

Turkey has lately been threatening military incursions into Ezidikhan if Iraq fails to satisfy its demands. It is already deeply engaged in offensive operations in Efrin and other parts of northern Syria where Yezidis form a significant minority.

“These attacks against Yezidis must not be permitted,” Prime Minister Hammo has demanded. “The Iraqi government must act swiftly and with force to push back the affronts issued by the Turkish government.”
